Yaél Monae Bermudez is a producer, writer, and curator from Queens, New York.

She is a graduate from Boston University’s College of Communication with a Bachelor’s degree in Film & Television. Her professional experience ranges across television, independent feature film, commercials, music videos, and live events. Yaél’s experience extends internationally where she’s assisted on commercial shoots in Sydney, AU and produced a short film in Accra, Ghana.

Yaél’s work as a curator is exhibited through her work with the Video Art & Experimental Film Festival. She’s proud to have spearheaded the festival’s first media partnership with Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio as Senior Coordinator, Programming & Partnerships.

In October 2024, Yaél graduated with honors from Columbia University’s Creative Producing MFA program, There she was awarded the Bridges Larson Fellow Scholarship and Richard Brick Fund for Special Distinction in Line Producing.

Her films have screened at Flickers Rhode Island, Palm Springs International Shortfest, Michaeux, New York African American, Atlanta, New Orleans, Bushwick, and Accra Film Festivals and more.

Yaél is currently working as an administrative assistant at Authentic Talent & Literary Management. She was formerly the Executive Assistant to Alex Gibney at Jigsaw Productions.
